Too Old

 Bella wanted to paint something this week so we got out the paints and she painted a picture of a dog. She loves to blend colors..so I might need to replenish my paints after her blending fun! LOL!

Bella stayed over Monday night and we watched "Dancing With The Stars". She had to perform several of her "moves" for me.  We did about 30 minutes of Wii Just Dance and she out danced me!

Well..Bella said Papa and I were too old to be working so hard and I guess she is right. After planting 90+ plants, hauling 40 bags of planting soil, moving boulders, and hauling over a hundred bags of mulch we raised the surrender flag and have hired someone to finish the last flower bed and dig the trenches to extend the drains. Papa's wrist is strained and my knees are done! Doc said no surgery needed on the knees but they need a rest. I told him what Bella said about us "being too old" to work so hard and he agreed! (I think Bella called him and told him to say that! LOL) But he is right and I don't want to damage my knees any further. So now I will watch as the final bed is prepped and planted and the drains are done. Then the new sod arrives and it will be done!   We are almost finished with the yard! (Darn...I just remembered the fish pond needs cleaning out so Bella can put some gold fish in it! Guess we will be calling Efram to do that!)

We are keeping our fingers crossed for some nice weather so Bella can finally swim. She wants in the pool SO bad. I'm hoping for Friday or Saturday! Swimming is such a great exercise for her and I can't wait to get in and swim as well.

Great Strides 2016

I guess I was just a little negligent and failed to post a blog for last week....I guess I was a little preoccupied!

Great Strides 2016 was a huge success!  We have the most amazing friends and family!  We raised over $21K this year. There is a cure out there for CF and research is how we will find it and research takes money. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone that bought t-shirts and/or donated to BELLA'S BRIGADE. Love you all.

Growing Salad

Well...it's official...we have radishes!! Bella was SO excited! She keeps testing the carrots so we may not have too many by the time they are actually ready to be harvested!  The lettuce is coming up..Bella calls it salad. "Grammy, look! The salad is getting big!"  The peppers and tomatoes are getting bigger, too...so we actually are growing "salad"!  The single zucchini plant is getting huge. She checks the growth on the leaves several times a day!

 

We went to see "Captain America Civil War" on Wednesday so the rest of the week we were the Avengers. Gave my Garmin Vivo3 fitness tracker a workout!  

Awareness

May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month.  Why is it that on television I hear about Cycling Awareness, Asthma Awareness, Mental Health Awareness...all in the month of May..but never Cystic Fibrosis Awareness?  I have emailed, texted, tweeted, etc., local and national TV networks to please mention it...nothing..nada..zilch!  But I will persevere and get the message out!!!

Great Strides is going to be here before we know it!  As always I worry about the weather..but RAIN or SHINE we will walk!!

Bella's little laptop crashed...to the floor...my bad...so now she is the proud owner of an iPad Mini 4...and I picked up a new HP laptop. My current Toshiba is SO full and SO slow..it was about time for an update. Of course setting up her iPad was more difficult then the PC. I'm waiting on a phone call from Apple to un-disable it...grrrrrrr. I am SO not a fan of Apple products! But she loves it and that is all that matters.

Pool is coming along nicely! If the weather holds it will be plastered and filled next week. Equipment is set. Masons are coming Saturday to work on the waterfall wall!  Tony and I will be planting all the upper flower beds this weekend. I am so excited!! Bella keeps looking outside and saying.."It's not a pool yet Grammy!"  Soon baby girl..soon!
